Welcome to ACEN

Dear Visitor,

I am pleased and excited to be representing nurse leaders in Canada as the President of ACEN for the next year.

ACEN has an important role as a national voice of nurse leaders speak on issues important to the nursing profession.  It also provides an important network for building relationships between nurse leaders from across Canada.  I have valued the contribution that my membership in ACEN has made in my development as a senior nurse executive over the past five years.

Now is an important time for nurse leaders in Canada to have a strong voice.  There are significant changes happening in our health system and nurse leaders have a responsibility to ensure that the contributions that nurses can make to enable positive change are well known.  We need to work collaboratively with leaders from other health disciplines but the knowledge, skills and abilities of nurses can make a valuable contribution to the future health of Canadians.  Times of change are challenging and the key to navigating these changes are strong leaders.  Nurse leaders need to be take on these leadership challenges and ACEN has a role to play not only in leading but also in providing a support network for our individual members.

I look forward to working with all of you as we continue to build a strong network.
