ACEN member application

The Academy of Canadian Executive Nurses is a network of dynamic nurse leaders from across Canada who are committed to promoting nursing professional practice and supporting leadership development. ACEN is pleased to welcome eligible senior and emerging nurse executive/leaders to the Organization!

  1. Being a part of a group of Canadian Nurse Leaders who collaborate on issues facing nursing today;
  2. A community of practice that is committed to sharing best practices in nursing administration;
  3. ACEN is recognized as a national voice for Nurse Leaders and is regularly consulted on issues and new initiatives in health care;
  4. Opportunity for new leaders to be mentored by the top leaders in the country;
  5. Educational Sessions Series with a national perspective;
  6. Includes free postings of leadership opportunities in your organization on the ACEN website;
  7. Includes a subscription to Canadian Journal of Nursing Leadership; and
  8. Ability to impact national health care direction and policy issues through our contact with other national organizations.

Membership Tiers

Recently, ACEN members revised the By-laws to be more inclusive of aspiring nursing leaders. As always, ACEN membership is open to all Chief Nurses and Director level nurses in all institutions with an academic mandate. However, now we are pleased to announce that ACEN membership has been expanded to include two new membership tiers: Emerging Nurse Executive/Leader and Retired members.

FULL MEMBER ($400): Registered Nurses who hold a position as a senior nursing executive/leader.

EMERGING NURSE EXECUTIVE/LEADER MEMBER ($400): Registered Nurses who are aspiring Nurse Executives and hold a formal nursing leadership role.

RETIRED MEMBER ($100): Retired Members are any ACEN members who have maintained ACEN membership for a period of five consecutive years, are retired and no longer employed. This is the only non-voting membership category.
